₦800,000.00

Dimensions: 24 x 24 Inches Medium: Oil and Gold Leaf on Canvas Year: 2020 This piece is a visual tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman, an embodiment of quiet strength, artistic excellence, and grace under pressure. Known for his groundbreaking roles in films such as Black Panther, 42, and Marshall, Boseman’s presence on screen was both regal and deeply human. Behind his performances, however, was a private battle with cancer, a reality that was only revealed after his passing. That revelation made his work all the more extraordinary. Painted on a circular wood panel, this piece is rich in symbolism. The natural wood surface, an element of earth, speaks to our inevitable return to the soil, a reminder of life’s impermanence. The circular format evokes the shape of a gold coin, commemorating a life of rare value and purpose. Boseman is rendered in front of a background of gold spray paint, adorned with layers of gold leaf, signifying the light, dignity, and excellence he radiated in every aspect of his craft. A proud Howard University alumnus, Chadwick Boseman’s legacy lives on through the renamed Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts. His journey inspires us to live with purpose and integrity. This portrait is more than an image, it’s a golden offering in honor of a man who transformed pain into power and left a legacy of reverence.
