Responsible Innovation

Building the Sovereign Rail

The National Gallery of Art (NGA) has entered a landmark partnership with TAF Institute to modernize how Nigerian art is protected, valued, and shared with the world. By integrating government-backed oversight with TAF’s digital infrastructure, the NGA is leading a new era of Responsible Innovation for the creative economy.

The TAF ID & Digital Provenance

Every work registered through this partnership is assigned a TAF ID. Think of this as a "Digital Passport" for your art. This unique ID creates a permanent, unchangeable record of who created the work, who has owned it, and where it has been.

IP Protection

Your Intellectual Property is secured. The TAF ID ensures that your work cannot be easily forged or stolen, giving you and your collectors total peace of mind.

Building Your Legacy

By recording every sale and exhibition, we build a "Provenance" (a history of value) that makes your art more attractive to international museums and serious global collectors.

The Tri-Tier System

The Professional Standards for Every Artist. To ensure every piece of art receives the right level of care, the NGA and TAF utilize a three-tier classification system:

Tier 1

Masterpieces

High-value works of national importance that receive direct, manual validation from NGA experts.

Tier 2

Professional

Works by established and emerging artists that are audited for quality and professional standards.

Tier 3

Artisan

High-volume creative works and crafts that benefit from instant, automated certification.

Your Legal Gateway to the World

Exporting art has traditionally been a complex process. Our Sovereign Export Rail simplifies this by automating the legal requirements for international trade.

When you sell a work through TAF, the system automatically generates Standardized Export Documents required by Nigerian law to be issued by the National Gallery of Art.

How this benefits the ecosystem:

For Artists

The mandatory export fee is covered by the buyer at the point of sale, ensuring that the artist’s profit remains untouched while the government’s regulatory requirements are met.

For Independent Galleries

TAF is proud to extend this infrastructure as a service for independent galleries. Any gallery in Nigeria can utilize the TAF Rail to secure official NGA documentation, ensuring their exports are fully compliant, recorded, and protected under national law.

Global Trust

These standardized documents signal to international customs and collectors that the work is legitimate, authorized for export, and part of the official Nigerian provenance registry.
