Growing up in Oshodi, Lagos, childhood was never defined by what we had, but by how we found joy in the little things. This painting, Memories, is a reflection of those moments days spent running through the streets, carrying worn-out slippers, creating games from imagination, and finding freedom in simplicity. For me, this work is more than a portrait; it is a tribute to the innocence, and creativity that shaped my early years. It reminds me that some of our most valuable memories are born from ordinary moments that stay with us long after childhood has passed. As I painted this piece, I found myself revisiting those streets, those friendships, and that feeling of possibility that seemed endless. What childhood memory still stays with you today?
