Sokponba (also spelled Sakponba) bus stop refers to informal or junction-based boarding points along Sokponba Road in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria—particularly near the busy 3rd Junction with Murtala Muhammed Way, close to Ekiosa Market. It serves as a common pickup/drop-off spot for local commercial buses, minibuses, and other vehicles traveling to/from Ring Road (the city center) and further along the road toward Upper Sakponba. The area is known for heavy traffic and commercial activity; the Edo State government previously planned a formal bus terminus there to ease congestion and improve parking/loading. Like many stops in Benin City, it is largely informal rather than a fully structured terminal.
