UZO OMA (THE GOOD PATH)

NazAtelier

Painting

₦350,000.00

Dimensions: 16 x 20 inches Medium: Oil on Canvas Year: 2025 “Uzo Oma” is a symbolic still life that honors my African heritage through everyday objects rich with meaning. The kerosene lamp, once a common household staple in Nigeria, represents guidance and hope, lighting the “good path” in times of darkness. The bowl of roasted plantains, a familiar street food, signifies nourishment and care, even in times of hardship. The snake plant, known for its protective and purifying qualities, symbolizes resilience, strength, and spiritual protection. With a warm palette of burnt umber, ochre, and deep brown contrasted against a cool blue background, this piece aims to offer a sense of homely warmth and calm. It is a quiet yet powerful reminder that affirms: even in the wilderness, one is never truly alone.
