WE SHALL RISE ABOVE ALL RUBBLE (Fresh Forward) The painting piece by Godwin Tom Sunday, entitled We Shall Rise Above All Rubble is done with oil on canvas with its dimension 70cm by 100cm and produced in the year 2015. The painting depicts a vibrant youthful Nigerian dressed in a green shirt and beret, raising up a Nigeria flag, taking a fresh step forward, rising above a dilapidated structure which represents “a collapsed economic system, corrupt practices and storms of crisis”. The painting is semi impasto technique which gives the Artist freedom to play with his strokes of colours. The land is filled with great tragedy. Our minds are boggled, hearts broken, homes shattered and souls lost. Our existence is shrouded in the mystery of uncertainties while every living soul is subjected to unwarranted misery. The rubble looks endless and the cloud, foggy. Yet we shall rise from the rubble. War may rage, crises may ensue, corruption may spread but we shall rise again above all rubbles.
